SOARING OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUNG ADULTS, WITH A HANDS-ON APPROACH TO AVIATION EDUCATION. AVIATION EXPLORATION BASE CAMP (CAMP) WAS ESTABLISHED TO PROVIDE A FACILITY ON THE EXPERIMENTAL AIRCRAFT ASSOCIATION (EAA) GROUNDS IN OSHKOSH, WI, WHICH WOULD BE AVAILABLE TO AVIATION EXPLORERS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. THE CAMP PROVIDES A SOURCE OF TRAINED YOUTH FOR FLIGHT LINE DUTIES AT THE ANNUAL EAA CONVENTION - AIRVENTURE HELD IN OSHKOSH, WI. THE CAMP ENCOURAGES COOPERATION BETWEEN EAA AND THE LOCAL BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA COUNCILS SO YOUNG PEOPLE MAY ORGANIZE AVIATION EXPLORER POSTS. THE CAMP ALSO PROVIDES LEADERSHIP TRAINING AND OTHER OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH, INCLUDING EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND FACILITIES OFFERED BY THE EAA AIR MUSEUM.
