Grants to Wisconsin nonprofit organizations and counties to assist with the salaries and benefits of local professional foresters. Eligible foresters must have received a four-year degree prior to acquiring their position. Funding is also available to nonprofits that provide counsel to the foresters.
Any county employing a professional forester in the capacity of County Forest Administrator or Assistant County Forest Administrator can receive up to 50 percent of its employee’s annual salary and fringe benefit costs. In addition, funding is available for up to 50 percent of the dues to a non-profit organization that provides counsel to the County Forest Administrator and that serves as an organizational liaison for DNR.
