Grant Description
Grants to Wisconsin nonprofit organizations in eligible regions for programs that empower women and girls for economic success. A letter of intent must be submitted prior to submitting a full application. Priority is given to programs that benefit underserved women. Eligible organizations must reside in and projects must take place within the borders of Dane County.

AFFW is interested in increasing opportunities for education and family-sustaining jobs for women and people who identify as women, especially:

  • Women of color
  • Single mothers ages 18-40 and girls with adult responsibilities
  • Women living in poverty and unstable economic conditions
  • Women adversely affected by the continued impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly those in poverty-wage jobs with weak benefits and low or volatile hours
  • Women and girls who hope for a more stable future in which they can both provide for their families’ basic needs and save for future economic goals

Projects eligible for funding may include, but are not limited to, workforce development, education programs (not individual scholarships), mentorship programs and support services.
